By using Together, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Information Collection

Together is designed to let users create or join shared focus rooms. Depending on how you use the app, we may collect and process information that you provide directly, information created through app use, and limited technical information necessary for the app to function.

• App Data & Identifiers: This may include your display name or username, room code, room participation information, anonymous Firebase user ID, and room metadata (such as room ID, creator ID, creation time, room settings, timer state, and participant records).
• Local Preferences: Preferences stored locally on your device include your saved username, last room ID, and mute preference.
• Technical Data: We may process limited technical data such as network connectivity status, server time offset, notification permission status, and device capabilities needed for notifications, haptics, or Live Activities.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use this information strictly to maintain basic app functionality, synchronization, and performance. Specifically, to:

• Create, manage, and allow users to join shared focus rooms.
• Display usernames, room status, and timer progress within a room.
• Synchronize room timers and session states across participating devices in real time.
• Enable local notifications for work and break transitions.
• Support Live Activities and lock screen countdown displays.
• Remember your local settings and previously used room information.
• Maintain authentication, rate limiting, and overall app reliability.

3. Third-Party Services and Infrastructure

Together uses anonymous authentication through Firebase. You are assigned a unique anonymous user identifier and do not need a traditional account sign-in for core functionality. Your anonymous identifier is used solely to associate you with the focus rooms you create or join.

The app uses Firebase Realtime Database to store and sync room data. Depending on usage, Firebase may store anonymous user IDs, room IDs, room creator IDs, room creation timestamps, room settings, timer state, participant records, and user metadata (such as active room and last room created time). We use Firebase as a service provider to operate the app, and Firebase may process data under its own privacy practices and service terms.
